Features

What it does, and what it deliberately does not

Every feature below exists to serve one idea: the record of your horse should be complete, current, and yours. Anything that did not serve that idea was left out.

The care record

Farrier, worming, vaccinations, dentist, vet, physio, saddle fitter, clipping, insurance, passport. Eleven kinds of care, each with its own cycle. Log a visit once, with the cost if you want it, and Rosrijk works out when the next one is due.

Every yard works to different intervals, so every entry's cycle can be changed. Six weeks for the farrier is a default, not a rule.

Reminders that arrive in time

A warning ahead of the due date, when there is still time to book, and another on the day itself. The lead time fits the job: five days for a farrier, three weeks for a vaccination, because those are booked differently.

Reminders are scheduled on your phone by iOS itself. No server is involved, which also means they work in a yard with no signal.

Rides that log themselves

Start it, ride, stop it. Walk, trot and canter are worked out from how the phone moves and how fast you are travelling. In an indoor school, where GPS is useless, it reads the rhythm of the gait alone: a trot is a brisk two beat, a canter a slower rolling three beat.

Gait detection is honest about being an estimate. It is marked beta, every ride can be corrected by hand, and when its two signals disagree it deliberately picks the slower gait, because flattering your workload figures helps nobody.

Workload you can actually see

Time in the saddle is not the same as work done. A minute of canter loads a horse more than a minute of walk, so the weekly chart weights them differently. You see load building week by week, which is when you notice you are asking too much, or too little.

A complete cost record

Record recurring monthly costs and one-off expenses for livery, feed, insurance, lessons, competitions, transport, equipment and other categories. Costs entered with care events are included automatically, so the same bill is never entered twice.

The overview separates actual spending from the full-year forecast and shows the monthly average and category breakdown. View one horse or all horses and the stable together.

Appointments in your private calendar

Open Apple's own event editor from the next care date. You choose the private calendar that should receive the farrier, dentist, vaccination or other appointment.

Satellite replay and social sharing

After an outdoor ride, replay the route over satellite imagery. The line follows the order you rode with time, distance and gait. Then create a shareable recap for Instagram, Facebook or another channel through the standard iOS share sheet.

The whole record, as one file

One tap produces a PDF of everything: the horse's details, the current schedule, the full care history with costs, a work summary and the recent rides. Hand it to your vet before a consult, to a new yard, or to a buyer.

This is the point of the whole app. A record you cannot take with you is not really yours.

Widgets and the lock screen

The next job that needs booking sits on your home screen, so you see it without opening anything. During a ride, the lock screen shows the time, the current gait and the distance, large enough to read with gloves on.

What it deliberately does not do

No account

Nothing to sign up for. Open the app, add your horse, done.

No Rosrijk-owned server

Your record lives on your iPhone and optionally in your private iCloud. Rosrijk never receives it.

No ads, no tracking

Not now, not later. There is no analytics code in the app at all.

No social feed

You can share a ride, but Rosrijk has no likes, followers or leaderboard.
